Weak Families Create Weak Nations
The modern, western society is destroying the family and the destruction of the family speeds up the decline of western society.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: [Matthew 12:25 KJV]
The Working Women
The primary duty of the woman is to manage the home. This includes cleaning, cooking, furnishing, decorating, etc. When the woman is no longer focused on her home but on an external occupation, she can no longer be present.
This forces either the home to be unmanaged or for the husband to pick up the slack. With the husband picking up the wife’s neglected work, his own work and responsibilities then suffer.
This does not mean that the wife can’t make an income, but that her efforts to produce income must not pull her away from the home.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. [Proverbs 31:27 KJV]
So if mom is not home, who raises the children?
Children Raised By The State
When no one is home to watch the children, they end up in the public school system to be taught by the state and its standard. But we are told that we, the parents, are to teach our children. Not a nanny or the state.
When the public school has a child for eight hours every day, they can force their values on the child. This has a tremendous impact on their development, no matter if their parents take them to church each Sunday. One, two, or three hours of church will never make up for the massive time they will spend in the state’s indoctrination.
But if their mom is not home to teach them, and the parents cannot afford a private school, what other choice is there? The separation of the mother from her role in the home then takes the children out of the home and the family separates further.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. [Proverbs 22:6 KJV]
Husbands Not Embracing Their Role
Brothers, the two above causes of a separate family would not happen if the husband fulfilled his full role as the leader and pastor of the home. When men are weak, their wives take the lead, leaving the home for better income, and forcing the children into the states hands.
We must not back down from the calling God has put on us to love our wives as Christ loves the Church. This includes providing for both our wife and our children, but also taking a hard stand upon God’s word.
It can be uncomfortable, like when we have to rebuke the sin of our wife and children. It can be tiring, like working extra to provide for the flock so our wife can stay home with the children. Sometimes the weight is heavy from the emotional burden of differing from the world in word and action.
But it’s always good.
It’s good because God created this standard for us. It’s good because God blesses those that love Him and keep His commands.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [Psalm 1:1-2 KJV]
