After close to a year of focusing on content for Instagram, the Stoic Christian is branching out. Often when writing content for these posts there is more to say then can fit within the ten slide limit. To accommodate those of you that would like a deeper dive into topics can now join this substack, The Stoic Christian Inklings.
What’s an Inkling?
An inkling is a slight hit or indication. But in the context of ideas and writing we can also use it to mean a slight understanding or vague notion.
Why This Name?
This blog will hold thoughts on any given subject around Biblical masculinity. These thoughts often come from reading the Bible and other various materials. When a thought bubbles up to the top of mind it gets studied at some point. Then the findings get posted on several platforms.
It’s important to avoid the persona that what gets posted is best understanding of any subject. The posts are from learning every day and choosing to share what is discover. The ideas shared may not be fleshed out. Or could totally miss the mark.
Because of this, the word inkling seemed appropriate. Please pray that God never lets anything that is untrue into these posts. His wisdom is so vast and so deep that an entire life’s study will only ever be a slight understanding.
An inkling.
What to Expect
When creating a post for Instagram there is often more written down than goes into the slides. When this happens a new post on Substack will contain the full writing. This may be very long or only add a bit more context around the Instagram post.
Instagram will not change. What you expect to see on Instagram appear exactly the same way. It’s the style and it’s fitting so it’s going to stay.
Telegram tends to get different content based on the Instagram post. What happens with Telegram will take some trial and error. Currently, the idea is to post the IG title image some short text, and then a link to the full text on Substack.
Gab is cross-posted from Telegram and will remain the same. So what you see on Telegram is what you’ll see on Gab unless a better idea arises.
As for Substack, the platform has the ability to host podcasts and videos. The plan is to add a Stoic Christian podcast at some point in 2023. Substack will likely be the place to find this to keep it simple.
